Food Habits of a Rabbit
Will there be anyone in this world who is not aware of rabbits? I don’t think so. Rabbits are small mammals which are found in almost all the continents, except in Antarctica. They are one of the most friendly mammals present in the world today. There are approximately 305 breeds of domesticated rabbits in the world.
Rabbits are not only used as pets but also for food and clothing. The size of a rabbit varies from 8 inches to 20 inches depending on the type of breed. They are mainly known for the fluffy and short tails, long ears, and whiskers.

Rabbits enjoy almost all the types of vegetables, herbs, fruits, etc. Some of the food items which are considered to be suitable for the rabbits include:

Irrespective of the aforementioned food items, all the breeds of rabbit must be fed with fresh hay and grass regularly. This will help to keep their digestive system clean and healthy.
Not all the rabbits enjoy the same type of food. Hence, before feeding your rabbit with large quantities of food items, feed them with small quantity during the initial stage. Increase the amount only if your bunny is comfortable with the food supplied.
Rabbits have a very sensitive digestive system. Hence, always wash the vegetables and fruits before feeding them.
Rabbits should not be fed with muesli-type food items. This will affect their entire digestive system. Such foods might also cause tooth-related problems in them. It will also lead to unwanted weight gain of your pet, which is not good for rabbits.
Fruits and vegetables which have high sugar content should not be given in large amounts. Also, they normally do not prefer to eat any root vegetables/fruits.

Rabbits cannot live without sufficient water. Hence, make sure that you supply clean and fresh water for all your pet bunnies.
To be precise, if you want to raise a rabbit at home, you should be very careful. They have a very sensitive stomach and hence, even a small amount of toxic food items will make them sick. The most important thing you should keep in mind is that a rabbit always requires a high fiber, low fat and low sugar diet.
